The Global Battle of the Bands (GBOB)
The Global Battle of the Bands is the worlds biggest band competition with a big US $100,000 First Prize. Heats are held throughout Australasia with the emerging finalist winnning the opportunity to compete againt the rest of the world at the GBOB grand final in London.
In 2009, 'The Rustys' were runners-up at both their Heat and Regional Final.
Fellow Geelong band, 'Damnations Day' claimed first spot at both of these events,
and were again impressive at the Australasian Final in Sydney, placing
seventh out of eighteen competing bands.
Other bands in the top seven include Ben Wells and the Middle Names (Hobart),
Spacifix (Brisbane), Sunset Road (Western Sydney), The Nickson Wing (Newcastle)
and Sensible Pets (Brisbane).
