PRIMERS, SEALERS & UNDERCOATS

A vital part of the preparation process, the correct primer, sealer or undercoat will help ensure the colour uniformity, opacity and durability of your paintwork.

Some sources will tell you that a preparation coat is never required, but, this is not always the case. There are many surfaces where a preparation should be used if you want the top coat to perform at its best.

Acrylic Sealer Undercoat

  • Water-based convenience
  • Maximum adhesion to interior surfaces
  • Provides a smooth finish over jointed plaster board
  • Excellent hiding power
  • Easy to apply

Oil Based Primer

  • Use on interior and exterior bare timber
  • Available in pink. (White in Queensland)
  • Suitable for enamel and acrylic top coats
  • Stops tannin stains, even over tannin-rich timber
  • Excellent adhesion to timber

Sealer Binder

  • Seals porous surfaces
  • Binds powdery surfaces
  • Provides a strong foundation for top coats
  • Protects against alkali attack
  • For interior and exterior use Seals water stains

All Metal/Steel Primer

  • For all metals except zinc and galvanised iron
  • Enhanced rust protection
  • Contains no toxic lead or chromate (toxic pigments)
  • Top coat with either water based or oil based products

Galvanised Iron Primer

  • For zinc and all galvanised surfaces
  • Great adhesion to galvanised iron
  • Enhanced corrosion protection
  • Protects against white rusting
  • Contains no toxic lead or chromate (toxic pigments)
  • Top coat with either water based or oil based products

  • Flexible 100% acrylic maximises exterior durability
  • Stops most tannin stains
  • Use on bare timber
  • Top coat with either water based or oil based products

Oil Based Undercoat

  • For interior and primed exterior surfaces

  • Easy sanding for smoother finishes
