Wallpaper can add so much to your house, it can give a new lease of life to any number of rooms throughout the house, and there is a wide range of patterns, styles and textures to choose from.
To help your retailer calculate how much wallpaper you will need there are some measurements you can take. Measure the height and width of the walls in the room you wish to wallpaper so the number of rolls can be determined.

Some of the basic tools required are as follows: A water trough, clean sponge, scissors, a sharp adjustable stanley knife, a straight edge or broad knife, a soft pencil, a tape measure, plumb line, a bucket and a step ladder.

Like any job around the home, achieving a finish you'll be proud of depends on the correct preparation.

All walls should be smooth, dry and free of any dust or grease. Any porous or flaking surface should be thoroughly cleaned and sealed with a penetrating oil type binder, even if it's new or unpainted plaster board.
