Choosing the right Bed

A good night's sleep is important for all of us to function properly during the day. However, selecting the right mattress can be confusing with so many choices. So make sure you try before you buy.

Go to a store where you can test every mattress to find which is most comfortable for you. And check the guarantee offered by the retailer – the longer the guarantee, the better the quality.

There are spring mattresses, wooden-base spring mattresses, and foam and latex mattresses, which work best with a slatted bed base. Remember the heavier you are the firmer your mattress should be. Look on the mattress label for the grade of firmness.

For extra comfort, choose a Swedish style mattress pad, which adds softness to the sleeping surface, while maintaining the support and firmness of the mattress underneath. Again, there should be several different thicknesses to choose from.

Then select the right pillow to support your head and neck, and the right thickness of quilt, allowing you to relax and sleep soundly.
