Landscaping Courtyards
Job Infomation
Grey Concrete
Usually the concrete is poured at a strength of 20 Mpa and a slump of
80.
Concrete is not less than 75mm thick.
F52 would be the minimum gauge steel reinforcing to use.
Usually the concrete is batched in lots of .2m so the measurement of
your job is rounded up to the nearest multiple of .2m.
Remember, dont be tempted to pour more than you can handle.
There are two types of finishes recommended for a court yard, a float
finish and a broom finish.
Expansion joints are placed in so that there is no larger mass of concrete
than 12 - 14 m.
Colour , Stencil and Stamped Concrete
The concrete is poured normally and the colour is added on after.
There are several companies making the colour for concrete and a variety
of jobs can be done with this colour, the easiest being floating the colour
onto the surface.
Stencil and stamped take a bit more practice and need a bit more
equipment.
Usually the place of purchase for the colour, which is sold in 20kg. bags,
will have a variety of the stencils and stamped equipment as well.
