Power tools are notorious for the large volumes of dust they disperse into the air. The very fine particles, the ones most difficult to capture can do the most damage to your lungs causing respiratory infections and some cancers. Dust extraction on power tools can only go so far. For a much higher level of safety you need to consider effective personal dust protection provided by a powered respirator.

WHY A POWERED RESPIRATOR?

Disposable masks have limitations; they have difficulty sealing around the face effectively and therefore dust can leak in around the edges. Filtered dust masks are much better but feel restrictive and can be uncomfortable to wear particularly on hot days. The best form of protection is a powered respirator, which gently blows a stream of clean, filtered air across your face.

WHAT WILL IT PROTECT ME AGAINST?

The Triton powered respirator is very effective in filtering airborne dust. It is a pleasure to use for all woodworking jobs " sawing, routing, shaping, sanding, woodturning etc. Other applications not associated with woodworking " using a brushcutter or chainsaw, grinding metal or stone, sanding body filler or plaster " the list is endless. The Triton powered respirator is not suitable for use against gases, vapors, chemical fumes or in explosive atmospheres, for example spray painting.

• Respiratory protection to AS/NZS1716;
• Eye protection to AS/NZS 1337 high impact;
• Hearing protection to AS/NZS 1270 23dB rating;

It combines a lightweight hard hat, a full face hinged visor for face and eye protection, integral high quality ear muffs and hearing protection ( that click out when not needed) and a lightweight adjustable shroud. Airflow is generated by a waist mounted rechargeable power pack.

A continuous stream of air is directed down the inside of the visor and across the face, eliminating potential for fogging. This gentle airflow at the ambient temperature keeps your face feeling fresh.
