LPG vs Electricity

Electricity in Australia is primarily generated from black or brown coal. By running your heater on LPG instead of electricity you can significantly reduce CO2 emissions. Based on Full Fuel Cycle Emissions and the following heaters Electrolux KR25WR Reverse Cycle 5600W, Rinnai LPG Model 556/557 flued heater, 23 MJ/hr, Rinnai LPG Model 506 unflued heater, 21 MJ/hr which all produce approximately 19MJ/hr useful heat output.

LPG vs Wood

Wood is not regulated or quality controlled - LPG is. Emissions from wood can never be guaranteed. For example, use of unseasoned wood leads to excessive smoke emissions. Treated wood can contain pesticides, which release toxic emissions into home environments when burnt in fireplaces. Emissions from wood fireplaces are high in particulate matter, PM10. Harvesting of wood from forests destroys native animal habitats. LPG provides convenient instant heat.

Kwik-Gas Cylinder Exchange

The Kwik Gas exchange program removes the need to decant cylinders which leads to loss of LPG to the environment.

To decant from one cylinder to another, a pressure differential must be present. This is achieved by unscrewing the vapour release mechanism (bleed screw) on the cylinder to be filled. By undoing the bleed screw, stored vapour is allowed to escape into the environment as it is displaced by liquid. By filling the cylinders at our terminals on mass, the emissions, which result from decanting, are eliminated, however there is still a very small discharge at disconnection

Economical LPG

Throughout winter in an average uninsulated home, around 30% of heat losses occur through the ceiling, 20% through the walls, 20% through floors, 15% through windows and 15% through draughts.

This heat loss can be minimised, and therefore energy bills reduced, by following some basic energy saving practices When purchasing appliances, use the gas energy rating labels to choose an energy efficient unit and select an appliance to match your requirements (i.e: a small room only needs a small heater).

Make sure your heater is clean of dust and fluff. Ideally, a heater should be serviced each year and the small cost is usually more than offset in the reduced energy consumption as a result of improving the heat output.

Remember to turn off appliances within the home when they are not in use Ensure the temperature setting on your hot water system is correct and dont overheat the water. While away from your home for a long period of time, turn your hot water system off.

Gas Appliances

Gas Continuous Flow Units This will never run out of hot water. This heats water only when required saving up to 20% off your hot water gas bill Control panels in the bathroom and/or the kitchen allow exact temperature control Compact, saving you space

Gas Storage Tank

This has a limited hot water supply (Tank size) This constantly reheats the water whether you need it or not, therefore wasting energy and costing you more This does not allow you to easily control hot water temperature Storage units are bulky, taking up extra space

Gas Cookers

Instantaneous and controllable heat, quicker than electric Greater control - heats in the blink of an eye (no pre-heating necessary), and cools down quickly. Response to purpose - baking, barbecuing , simmering, frying or stir frying. Moist heat - flavour is retained. Space Heating

Economical, environmentally friendly versus electricity or wood, more efficient use of energy Flexibility - with the luxury of Central Heating, Flued Heating or Portable Heaters. Impact - can provide instant heating in the home and office. BBQ's/pole heaters Kleenheat Gas House offers the exclusive Star range of BBQs start from $69 Information on what products we have can be taken from the Gas House part of the website www.kleenheat.com.au

Benefits of having two 45kg cylinders 1 in households

Continuous supply - no risk of running out of gas as you can switch from your empty cylinder to your full cylinder Can manage your gas delivery and charges better Larger cylinder options are available for households with higher energy uses i.e. 190 and 210kg tanks.
