Hosting a Party
- Consider if the party would be better hosted in a more controlled environment eg. hall.
- Contain guests to one area and have only one entry/exit point which is supervised by adults.
- Create a guest list and never use e-mail or SMS to advertise your party.
- Ensure the party is well lit, especially dark corners and hidden areas.
- Ensure you have adequate fire safety and first aid measures in place.
- Act immediately if gatecrashers arrive. Refuse entry and if necessary contact the Police.
- Set up one "off limits" room to enable people to safely store their valuables during the party.
- Advise your local Police. If Police are notified of a party they may be able to patrol the
vicinity and give priority to any call should problems arise.
- Ensure ample parking is provided in areas that would not obstruct neighbours or
emergency vehicles should they be required.
