Hosting a Party
  • Consider if the party would be better hosted in a more controlled environment eg. hall.

  • Contain guests to one area and have only one entry/exit point which is supervised by adults.

  • Create a guest list and never use e-mail or SMS to advertise your party.

  • Ensure the party is well lit, especially dark corners and hidden areas.

  • Ensure you have adequate fire safety and first aid measures in place.

  • Act immediately if gatecrashers arrive. Refuse entry and if necessary contact the Police.

  • Set up one "off limits" room to enable people to safely store their valuables during the party.

  • Advise your local Police. If Police are notified of a party they may be able to patrol the vicinity and give priority to any call should problems arise.

  • Ensure ample parking is provided in areas that would not obstruct neighbours or emergency vehicles should they be required.
