Consider if the party would be better hosted in a more controlled environment eg. hall.
Contain guests to one area and have only one entry/exit point which is supervised by adults.
Create a guest list and never use e-mail or SMS to advertise your party.
Ensure the party is well lit, especially dark corners and hidden areas.
Ensure you have adequate fire safety and first aid measures in place.
Act immediately if gatecrashers arrive. Refuse entry and if necessary contact the Police.
Set up one "off limits" room to enable people to safely store their valuables during the party.
Advise your local Police. If Police are notified of a party they may be able to patrol the
vicinity and give priority to any call should problems arise.
Ensure ample parking is provided in areas that would not obstruct neighbours or
emergency vehicles should they be required.
