Filters

Filtration is critical in a spa. Heated spa water can be a perfect breeding ground for bacteria.

Sand Filters

This type is never used in a spa as this media is not effective enough.

D.E Filters

Never used in a spa. This media is too effective and will clog very quickly.

Cartridge Filters

This is the only type of filter to use in a spa. Simply hose once a month.

Pumps

The rule of thumb is 1.0 hp for 6 jets and 1.5 hp for 8 jets. Most spas run a separate booster pump for all the massage and specialty jets.

Blowers

Blowers are noisy by nature so dont install it too close. Its hard to relax with the sound of a vacuum cleaner in your ear. Always set it up with a remote air button. That way you can turn the blower on and off without touching a power point with wet hands.
