Bathroom/Toilet

Power Outlets

Ensure there is a power outlet near the bathroom mirror for hair dryers and electric shavers etc. Discuss positioning with your electrician to ensure that power outlets are conveniently located but safely away from basins and baths etc.

Consider installing an Infrascan

An indoor infrascan in a bathroom and toilet can provide dramatic cost savings because they automatically switch off lights when they are not needed. Infrascans operate on body heat movement so when you enter the bathroom, the lights and exhaust fan will automatically turn on and when you leave they will turn off after a suitable delay.

Use Water Protected Flush Switches

A simple solution to the long standing problem of using electricity near water. Water Protected Flush switches are designed specifically for bathrooms, kitchens and laundries. A unique membrane between the switch dolly mechanism, together with a low profile neoprene gasket guarantees safety when switches are used with wet hands or installed near sinks, basins, taps and showers and they look just like normal wall switches.

Install an Exhaust Fan

A low profile ceiling exhaust fan is ideal for bathrooms, kitchens and laundries. They quickly remove stale air and steam, protecting walls and ceilings, allowing clean fresh air to flow in. The slimline grille can simply be snapped off for cleaning.

Radiant Globe Heater/Exhaust Fan

For the ultimate in bathroom luxury install a ceiling mounted radiant globe heater/exhaust fan unit. The units will bathe any size bathroom in glorious warmth, even on the coldest winter mornings. They can also feature a powerful exhaust fan which will protect your walls from damp and mould.

Include extra lighting around the mirror

Most of your time in the bathroom will be spent in front of the mirror, so it is a good idea to provide sufficient lighting. Extra lighting directly around the mirror will also reduce the possibility of fogging each time someone showers.

Heated Towel Rack

Electric towel racks are an excellent idea for providing you with a nice warm towel to dry off with after a shower or bath. Available in either wall mounted or free standing models, they are a practical and aesthetic way of keeping you comfortable all year round.
