HEBEL

Hebel is manufactured in many countries around the world, including Germany, France, Italy, Turkey, Mexico, Argentina, Japan and USA. In fact, in some countries Hebel has been the primary building material for walls for twenty to thirty years. Hebel is simply a form of concrete which has been aerated before curing and then steam cured under high pressure.

In the case of panel manufacture, the steel reinforcing rods are placed in the mould prior to pouring the sand, lime and cement mixture.
The result is a building product with some remarkable benefits to the home owner.

There are a number of reasons why Powerpanel is being recognised as a building system with a desirable difference and these include:

  • Strength: Each panel has four steel reinforcing bars running vertically when installed and several transverse bars. This reinforcement ensures excellent strength.

  • Quality: This steel reinforcement also has the effect of ensuring a straight wall and, in combination with the panels' continuous surface, provides an ideal substrate to which to apply coatings.

  • Versatility: Powerpanel can be installed to either a steel or timber frame.

  • Design: The Powerpanel system allows features such as quoining and corbels to be easily adapted to reflect your own taste in the design of your new home.

  • Insulation: Powerpanel provides built-in insulation through its cellular structure which, of course, can be boosted with the use of Insulation. This translates to a more comfortable and stable temperature environment inside and savings in heating and cooling bills.

In fact, the standard Powerpanel system has twice the 'R' value (measurement of insulation) to standard brick veneer.

  • Safety The high insulating factor and incombustibility of Hebel also means added safety from fire - the Powerpanel system achieves a 3-hour fire-rating which exceeds all domestic external wall building requirements.

  • Space: The Powerpanel system permits a slightly thinner wall to be provided which over the perimeter of the house results in about 2% increase in floor area for an equivalent brick veneer dwelling. If this bonus space is well utilised this could mean added storage or a more roomy bedroom.

  • Style: We're all individuals and so should be the houses we and our families live in. Powerpanel makes style affordable. By providing an ideal, cost-effective base to which to apply your choice of a vast range of colours, textures and features, Powerpanel has opened the door to a more stylish housing landscape to all Australians.
