Living Areas

Be careful with hot drinks.

Adults can accidentally spill some out of the cup. In the case of toddlers, they might want to see what it is you are drinking, and pulling the cup over, scald themselves. The best idea is to keep these potential hazards out of the way. Just remember that hot foods from the micro wave, hot drinks, hot water in the sink, even hot water in mop buckets, all have the potential to scald.

Look out for pointed corners . You can purchase plastic corner protectors.

On polished floors, children can slip on rugs... use rug grips to stop them slipping.

With heaters of any sort, guard them securely.

Stop childrens access to stairs. There are so many injuries caused from falls on stairs.

Another consideration is the use of door stops. Children have lost fingers as a result of the door shutting sharply by wind, other children, even parents.
